HKHS took the hike up to Thetford Academy in Thetford, VT for their Woods Trail Run. Throughout the day many runners had some excellent finishes and personal bests, surprising for the difficulty of the beautiful course. Boys placed 4th in the 1st Seeded race, an all time best for the boys team at Thetford. Results can be found on Lancer Timing's website.
https://www.lancertiming.com/ HKXC and North Branford hosted the Floyd Parness Invitational, with Morgan, Valley, and Lyme-Old Lyme also running. Boys raced first, winning the day with a perfect score of 15. Sean Rutledge lead the boys. Girls raced second with rain showers starting up. They also won with Julia Callis leading the girls in. Results can be downloaded below. Special thanks to the kids helping to pack up the tents and helping Coach Dupuis bring things to his car in the pouring rain!
The team competed at the first Shoreline Conf. meet on Thursday. Both girls and boys teams finished first against all others, bringing their Shoreline meet records to 5-0. Top runners of the day were Henry Sodergren and Sadie Strom. Results can be downloaded below.
HKXC competed in 6 races at the Ocean State Invitational and brought home 6 plaques. Freshman boys won their race, freshman girls placed 3rd. JV boys took 2nd while the girls took 3rd. Boys varsity placed 2nd and girls 3rd. Race results can found at the link below.

The girls swept the top 5 spots and boys took the top 10 for themselves. Race winners were Ali "Shark" Twachtman and Dakota Tucker. Everyone did a great job at the meet, from setting up to cooling down. Results can be found at the link below.

Both boy and girl freshman teams won their 2.4k races. Dakota Tucker placed 2nd, Caleb Freeman in 5th, and Greyson Merola in 8th. In the girls race, Brianna Minervino cam in 6th, followed by Ali Twachtman in 7th. Later on during the 5k Divisional races (with JV and Varsity running at the same time) the girls placed 3rd as a team and the boys once again winning. Top finisher for the boys was Matt Jennings in 6th, with Christian Uzwiak, Frank Howes, Seth Freeman, and Kyle Criscuolo scoring points. Meara Bodak was the top girls finisher in 4th place, with Julia callis, Lauren D'Amico, Michaela Flaherty, and Gabby Flaherty earning team points. In the nice, hot afternoon, the boys and girls 4x800m teams decided it was a good day to take the All-State Honors. Andrew, Daniel, Jonah and Conor ran a 8:04.49 in their relay. Kelsey, Lexie, Julie, and Emma ran a 9:43.26, which also sets a new HK school record. Andrew also qualified for Opens in the mile and Veronica in the Triple Jump.

Our teams fought hard, both taking 2nd place in team scoring, with several good performances and surprises.
